Maombezi ya watakatifu

"Tunapoadhimisha pamoja sherehe ya kuzaliwa kwa mtu mkubwa hivi, mtangulizi wa Bwana, mwenye heri Yohane, tuombe msaada wa sala zake. Kwa kuwa ndiye rafiki wa Bwanaarusi, tazama, yeye anaweza pia kutupatia tuwe wa Bwanaarusi, na kuonekana tunastahili kupata neema yake." – Augustino wa Hippo.[1]

Maombezi ya watakatifu ni fundisho la imani la baadhi ya madhehebu ya Ukristo, kama Wakatoliki, Waorthodoksi na Waorthodoksi wa Mashariki[2]. Kanuni ya Imani ya Mitume inakiri ushirika wa watakatifu, ambao kwa madhehebu hayo ni msingi wa kuomba msaada wa sala zao. Hata hivyo, Waprotestanti wengi wanaikataa[3][4] [5][6].
